SUMMARY OF THE CONFERENCE “AI IN HEALTH”

On June 8, 2021, the Conference “AI in health” was held, organized by the Polish Hospital Federation in cooperation with the British Embassy, Medical University in Wroclaw, the AI Coalition in Health and HeartBIT_4.0. It was the first nationwide event dedicated exclusively to artificial intelligence in health.

The Conference was watched by 250-300 participants at the same time, while over 700 were registered. The media range of the Conference was over 40,000.

Over 30 speakers participated in the Conference, including 10 from the UK, Hungary and Bulgaria. The speakers included Minister Anna Goławska from the Ministry of Health, Minister Justyna Orłowska from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Brhmie Balaram – Head of Research and Ethics at NHS AI Lab, Mr. Robert Kroplewski from the Ministry of Digital Affairs, Patient Ombudsman Bartłomiej Chmielowiec, Professor Izabella Uchmanowicz, Professor Zoltan Kalo, Susan Thomas from Google and the President of the Medical Research Agency Radosław Sierpiński.

The Main Partners were Google Cloud and PZU Zdrowie, while the Supporting Partners included EIT Health, Krajowa Chmura, Diagnostyka, Salmed and IQVIA. The Conference received 10 honorary patrons from the most important public entities and over 30 industry and media patrons.

The surveys conducted during the Conference show that:

* 93% of people believe that a separate regulation is needed for AI in health in Poland.

* 71% of people indicate that access to medical data in Poland for research and development purposes is insufficient.

* 93% of people believe that AI algorithms should be widely used in health care.

During the “AI in Health” Conference, the “Top Disruptors in Healthcare 2021” Report, which is a review of Polish medical startups, was also published. 115 startups participated in this year’s edition of the Report.
